AfSTA–IFPRI Strategic Collaboration 🌱: AfSTA engaged with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in a strategic dialogue to explore and shape collaboration on evidence generation, policy analysis, and capacity strengthening, key pillars in advancing Africa’s development priorities across food systems, poverty reduction, nutrition, markets and trade, and environmental resilience.
In a meeting attended by the AfSTA Secretariat and IFPRI's Khalid Siddig, (Country Program Lead and Senior Research Fellow), Sam Gituro (Program and Administration Manager), Faith Kimaiyo (Research Officer), Michael Keenan, PhD (Research Fellow) and Hailemariam Ayalew Tiruneh (Research Fellow), the engagement reaffirmed a shared commitment between AfSTA and IFPRI to leverage data-driven insights, strengthen policy frameworks, and build capacity across Africa’s seed systems.
Moving forward, AfSTA and IFPRI will work closely to translate these discussions into impactful actions that support resilient food systems, enhance trade, and improve livelihoods across the continent. hashtag#SeedSystems
