Today, IFPRI had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the International Centre for Evaluation and Development (ICED) to its Nairobi office.
The meeting was led by Dr. Steven Were Omamo, IFPRI’s Director, Development Strategies and Governance (DSG) and Director for Africa, and IFPRI researchers Dr. Khalid Siddig and Faith Kimaiyo, to explore strategic opportunities for collaboration in advancing evidence-informed policymaking and sustainable development across Africa
Discussions focused on:
⚡strengthening knowledge management systems to enhance the generation, synthesis, and use of evidence;
⚡providing joint monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) support to improve programme effectiveness and impact;
⚡co-convening conferences and policy dialogues, including the Evidence to Action (E2A) Conference;
⚡jointly conducting and disseminating research, including policy analysis, systematic reviews, and evidence gap maps;
⚡and pursuing joint fundraising and resource mobilization opportunities through collaborative proposals.
The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to strengthening partnerships, promoting the use of evidence in policy and practice, and supporting more effective and sustainable development outcomes across Africa.
